The Tara River carves through the deepest canyon in Europe — deeper than the Grand Canyon in places — and this single-day rafting trip puts you right in the heart of it. Starting from Šćepan Polje on the Bosnia–Montenegro border, you'll paddle 18 km of the most spectacular stretch of the river, through Class III–IV rapids, beneath 1,300-metre canyon walls, and along water so clear and cold it takes your breath away.
This is the most popular introduction to Tara rafting — the full adrenaline experience, completed in a single day. Our experienced local guides handle all safety briefings, equipment, and lunch on the riverbank. No prior rafting experience needed.
Meet your guide at Šćepan Polje. Full safety briefing, wetsuit and equipment fitting, introduction to rafting technique. Put-in at 09:00.
Paddle through the highlight rapids — Rajkov Kamen, Brštanovica, and the legendary Tepca gorge. Swim stops in calm sections. Riverside lunch prepared by the team.
The lower section brings more excitement before a calm finish. Take-out at Šćepan Polje by approximately 16:00. Return equipment, photos, debrief.

None whatsoever. We guide beginners every week. The Class III–IV rating describes the rapid intensity, not a requirement for skills — your guide handles everything. All you need to do is follow simple paddle instructions.
12 years. Children between 12–16 must be accompanied by an adult. Younger children can join the Una River rafting tour (minimum age 10) as an alternative.
We provide full wetsuits, helmets, and personal flotation devices. Wear a swimsuit or quick-dry shorts underneath. Bring a dry change of clothes for after the river — even in summer the Tara water is cold (8–14°C).
We recommend a waterproof case or dry bag for valuables. We provide group photos from the rapids — included in the price. A GoPro mounted to your helmet is allowed with a short safety briefing.
Experience the full canyon over 2 or 3 days — overnight camping on the riverbank.
