The 2-day tour is where Tara stops being an excursion and becomes a proper experience. You spend the night on a canyon riverbank — no phone signal, no noise except the river and the fire — and wake up deep inside one of Europe's most dramatic gorges.
Across two days you'll cover around 35 km of the Tara River, paddling the most exciting rapids in the morning while the canyon walls are still in shadow, exploring calmer sections in the afternoon, and spending the evening around a campfire with food cooked by our team. This is the tour our repeat guests most often come back to.
Meet at Šćepan Polje at 09:00. Safety briefing and equipment fitting. Launch onto the river and paddle the upper section — including the famous Rajkov Kamen and Brštanovica rapids. Lunch on the riverbank. Afternoon paddle through the narrowest section of the gorge. Set up riverside camp by 17:00. Campfire dinner with local grilled meats, salads, and cold drinks.
Breakfast at camp, then back on the water for the lower canyon section — different character, equally beautiful. Swim stops, optional cliff jump for those who want it. Riverside lunch. Take-out at Šćepan Polje by 15:00. Equipment return and debrief.
You sleep on a wide gravel bank on the canyon floor, where the river narrows and the walls rise on both sides. We provide two-person tents, sleeping bags, foam mats, and a headlamp. Camp meals are cooked over an open fire — dinner is a full spread with local meats, salads, and cold drinks from the river. There are no shared bathrooms — this is genuine wilderness camping, and that's exactly the point.

No. We set up camp while you're getting out of the raft. Everything is provided — you don't need to bring any camping gear.
Yes. The riverside sites we use have been used for years and are above the waterline. Guides sleep at camp too and handle everything. In the unlikely event of heavy rain, we have emergency protocols.
Couples and friends share a tent. Solo travellers are matched with someone of the same gender. If you want a single tent, mention this when booking — small surcharge applies.
Summer nights in the canyon (June–August) are around 15–18°C — cool but comfortable in our sleeping bags. May and September can drop to 10°C. We provide extra blankets on request.
